15 Skyscrapers That Are The Tallest Buildings In The World

One World Trade Center

HISTORY

Aside from being the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, 1 WTC is also the sixth tallest building worldwide. One World Trade Center used to be the northern tower of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed on September 11, 2001, and now called One World Trade Center.

On the ground of the original Twin Towers, there are multiple office buildings and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. As a measure of added symbolism, the official height of the building is 1,776 feet, meaning that the Declaration of Independence was signed in the year of its formation, symbolizing the founding of the United States.
