Łapalice Castle, Poland

In comparison to many spooky castles in Eastern Europe, Apaliice Castle is in every sense an impressive and ornate piece of architecture. The only castle built in 1979 was Apalicice Castle, which is not even a castle in the traditional sense. Originally built for Piotr Kazimierczak as a studio, the grand structure includes a ballroom, ramparts, and a dozen towers for some reason. As a result of not having enough money and no land permits, Kazimierczak’s project was abandoned before it could even be completed. Currently, the “castle” is merely a shell of what it once was, decorated with graffiti

Kangbashi, China

Discover the most modern ghost town ever built. It was intended to accommodate some one million people within a 130-square-mile area of Kangbashi New Area in Ordos (a subdivision of Inner Mongolia).. The futuristic city-within-a-city was built starting in 2003, but its super-expensive apartment buildings weren’t filled quickly, and its location in the desert wasn’t helping.. Kangbashi looks like it was built for a Ridley Scott movie, but abandoned after the filming. Several remarkably intact buildings and art installations can still be found in the area today
